Ciggy “Blueberry Grape Ice” 500ml one-shot does not perform at the advertised 30% usage. Controlled tests show a dead zone where 30% is bland and higher percentages become imbalanced (cold/harsh) instead of “richer.” A Lume long-fill (30ml/100ml) tested immediately after fill-to-volume tasted correct, confirming the issue is the one-shot formulation/scaling behavior, not my mixing process or devices.

Comment

Test conditions were controlled and repeatable. Nic base: 100 mg/ml in 100% PG; target: 3 mg/ml; target ratio: 50/50. Steam-Engine was used to confirm internal consistency.
Recipe used at 30% (PG-based one-shot): Nic base (PG) 3.00 ml; Flavor 30.00 ml; VG 49.85 ml; PG 17.15 ml; Total 100 ml. Bottles rested 3–4 days and tested on two different DTL pod systems; result was consistently bland. Increasing flavor to ~35% increased intensity but became “too much” (imbalanced), and pushing higher did not produce proper fruit density—only more aggressive profile.
Control validation: Lume long-fill (30ml in 100ml bottle) filled to volume tasted good immediately. Conclusion: the Ciggy one-shot’s formulation/scaling is the problem, not calculation, ratio, steeping time, or device variation.
